Star and flower, the same idea wearing two faces.

The Aster is an oval stone held in a thin gold band, with smaller stones scattered around it like light caught the moment after it was thrown, and a few more set into little buds that climb the shoulders, as though the band itself were a stem still in flower.

A ceremonial ring, made to order in gold vermeil over solid sterling silver, set with moissanite (lab diamond or white sapphire on request).

Historical Context

Asters were planted on graves in ancient Greece as symbols of remembrance. Their name comes from the Greek aster, meaning star. Romans believed they bloomed where Astraea, the star maiden, wept for the fallen.

In Victorian flower language, the aster meant patience. The kind that waits through winter. The Aster carries this lineage into the hand. A star you can wear. A flower that does not die.

Symbolic Meaning

The aster is both star and flower at once. To wear one is to hold opposites in a single object. The celestial and the rooted, what is far away and what is held close.

The same idea wearing two faces.

Wearers Intention

For those who want a piece that does the double work of remembrance and presence.

For someone marking a thing that has shaped them, or carrying someone who is gone but kept.

Care Guide

Remove before sleep, exercise, and showering.

For the gold:
Clean with warm water and mild soap. Buff dry with a soft cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners.

For the stones:
The oval moissanite at the centre is durable. The scattered shoulder stones are hand-set and benefit from gentle handling. Avoid hard knocks. Clean only with a soft, damp cloth.

General:
Store flat in a soft pouch. The scattered stones are hand-set and benefit from being protected from each other.
